Week 05 - 2026.01.26 => 2026.02.01

Last week I concentrated on schoolwork, now I am well ahead of time! I finished a big laboratory for "Servers and containers"-course in which I familiarized my self with Proxmox GUI as well as with creating a virtual machine (VM) into Proxmox, installing an OS (Rocky Linux) to that VM and doing the basic Linux first steps, like updating the system and testing that internet works.

This week I should have more time for my own projects.

Today was fun, I made final documentation in preparation for the installation of Proxmox into my server. Things went smoothly and in no time I was able to log into my Proxmox servers Web UI. I am HAPPY! (Well it took a few hours as I needed to download the ISO, create a bootable USB, decide and type in all the basic configuration etc.)

Tuesday 27th of January 2026

Today I have an "After School" event organized by Insinööriliitto and later in the evening JYP has a home game against Lukko. There is a chance to meet other engineering students and hopefully some representatives of employers. So not a lot of time to spend on this project.

Today I added my servers second SSD to the Node and registered it on the Datacenter level. I also created a test LXC Container (using Debian 12) for validating storage integration and basic container networking. I tested that container networking and outbound connectivity is working. Things went pretty smoothly, changes in web UI caused some trial and error, but nothing major.
